Church at night 2

St Lukes Church at Weston was built in 1826 and has been attached to the parish of Hodnet . However following Village and Parish discussions the decision has been taken to change our allegiance to Wem.

The newly appointed Vicar of Wem and Lee Brockhurst will therefore be responsible also for Weston under Redcastle from 1 March.

Arriving from his post as vicar in charge of RAF Shawbury, The Reverend Nick Heron was inducted on February 20th at Wem church.

On Monday December 1st 2014 Weston-under-Redcastle became a separate ecclesiastical parish for the first time, no longer a chapelry in the parish of Hodnet. The Chapel of St. Luke is now the Parish Church of St. Luke, the District Church Council is now the Parochial Church Council and the parish part of the Rural Deanery of Wem and Whitchurch.

On Friday January 1st 2016 the parish of Weston joined with Wem and Lee Brockhurst as a benefice and the Revd. Nick Heron, previously priest in charge, is now Rector.
